6. Download and manipulate photos
Download the photos using the JamCam software.
Unfortunately JamCam doesn’t timestamp the photos. You also have to use a JamCam to download the flash card (ie. you can’t use a flash card reader).
To do the time stamping in the sample movie, I did the following…
In my fieldbook I recorded the day & time of the first photo.
In Excel I made entries for each photo by filling the cells down by the time increment between photos.
Next, I made the excel sheet into a DOS batch file to rename the files sequentially. Ex::
ren jam001.jpg 06_11_02_1230.jpg
ren jam002.jpg 06_11_02_1430.jpg...
Finally, I made the .jpg images into a .avi movie file using the freeware program Slide Show Movie Maker . File names are printed in the lower left corner. SEE THE SAMPLES SECTION
