• Long-core varve record: Pb-210 dating

Lead-210 determinations for six samples from a short core in main basin of Lake C2 confirmed that the sediments were varved for the last 150 years. Dates calculated from the lead determinations closely matched the varve counts from the same level in the core.

Cesium-137 was present only in the uppermost sediment sample, providing additional confirmation of the annual interpretation of the laminae.
