Meridion circulare
This diatom, as well as Hannaea arcus, was found in the main stream flowing into Lake C2. Both taxa are characterized as lotic or rheophilous diatoms. They are present throughout the core's profile, i.e., during the marine and freshwater conditions. Their presence can be used to track river flow and input into the lake. Quantification of their presence might allow for inference of warmer, wetter conditions.
