The Optical Microscopy Laboratory houses 14 Nikon petrographic microscopes, a multi-viewer Nikon petrographic microscope with stations for viewing by up to 5 people simultaneously, a petroscope, 8 Prior binocular stereoscopes, and a digital imaging station that includes a Wild macroscope and a Nikon trinocular microscope, both interfaced with a Fuji videocamera, an Epson scanner, a video screen, a color printer, and a computer equipped with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator software. Images generated by microscopy can be projected directly via a ceiling-mounted Epson computer projector.
