My research interests are in the field of present and past climate change studies and climate modeling. My Ph.D. thesis involved studying climate change projections for Central America using a regional climate model. These regional projections are required to investigate climate change impacts on the ecosystem dynamics, hydrology and agricultural activities in the future. The other important aspect of this study involved developing techniques to validate the regional climate model output. I plan to extend this work to include different regional models that will enable intermodel comparisons and will also help isolate/study model uncertainties.

I am also involved in a project studying the imapcts of solar variability on the pre-industraial climate change. The prime focus of this work is to understand the effect of solar irradiance changes on the northern hemisphere sea level pressure variability during the pre-industrial era with the help of model simulations and the SLP reconstructions.
