I am interested in studying how geologic records can be used to reconstruct late Quaternary climate and environmental changes.  Detailed analysis of environmental changes during Earth’s recent past offer analogues to present conditions.  These records are particularly useful for defining the natural variability of the Earth’s climate system, which helps us put more recent climate changes into a longer term perspective.  I have mostly worked in the Arctic and have conducted projects in Alaska, Norway, and Greenland.
