GEO 531 -- TECTONICS -- SPRING 2006
A discussion course focusing on the processes and implications of
plate tectonics. How does plate tectonics work today and how has it evolved
through Earth history? The course is organized around a list of fundamental questions
about plate tectonics in the broadest sense.
We will move from tectonic setting to tectonic setting (process to process) discussing
the history of our understanding of the process and also current hypotheses.
