Geographic Information Systems

Science

Nine sections of this course have been developed and taught at WSC, UMass, and UPM; several credit and non-credit seminars-workshops have been conducted as well. Approximately 150 students-professionals have participated.  The curriculum promotes the academic and professional-vocational interests of students.

Introductory & Advanced

An effective element of introductory courses has been student-team projects focused on spatial analysis of relevant issues.  Field exercises, spatial thinking and modeling, and qualitative-qualitative syntheses also compliment the curriculum.

Completing exploratory composite geographic analysis in compromised operational environments through adaptive methodologies and available analytic tools-achievable protocols has been a primary focus of research and teaching in GIS Science.
