H01: Earth honors section: Hollywood Geology

Time schedule showing possible meeting time

1) Movie reviews: Teams of two will watch a move and prepare individual reviews. Then at the honors meetings (every two weeks) the teams will present in Ebert and Roper style their reviews of the movie and the geology within the movies.  After the reviews, the honors section will watch the movie and provide a post-game analysis of the geology.

2) Book Reviews: Same as for extra credit for the Geo101 section.  Each student in the honors section will write a review a different book and we will assemble the reviews into a collection  at the end of the course.  For extra Geo101 credit, students may review an additional book.

3) Attend two Professional Seminar presentations and write a one-page summary

Within these department seminars geology graduate students and professors give talks on their research and latest field work.  The seminar meets Friday at 12:20 starting September 12.
