New for Summer II 2015: Updated Course Interface and Format. Latest Data/Map Tools, integration of WRR 2014 Global Risk Model, and IPCC AR5 Climate Change Module. Assignments are three topical research essays, and a final case-study technical report.
For a demonstration case study, we will explore Natural Disaster risk assessed for Davao City, Philippines (Est. Population 2015 1.3 million). The study is in collaboration with the University of the Philippines, Mindanao; College of Science and Mathematics. We consider the Philippines generally as an example of a high risk country, and continued and effective adaptation and coping. |
