Streamflow and Sediment Transport: data organization
Streamflow and Sediment Transport: Data organization Readme
All data files are in comma-delineated format, organized as columns of values.
Time Column(s)
In all files the first column represents time, expressed as Day of the Year. For hourly data,
the time of day is indicated in decimal format. Each minute represents 1/1440 of a day,
so 0800 for example would be 0.333.
Data columns
For each variable listed below, the time intervals of available data are indicated. Periods
of no data exist prior to and/or following each field season; for which a placeholder is
shown as indicated below for each file.
N.B. - Before using these data, please also obtain the additional documentation for these
measurements, available from the Streamflow and Sediment Transport index page!
Stream discharge, on the hour (m3 s-1)
1992 174.583 to 221.458; no missing
1991 155.625 to 193.333; no missing
1990 160.417 to 209.625; no missing
placeholder: -9.999
SSC, measured (mg L-1)
All SSC values are averages of 1 to 3 verticals (see other documentation).
1992 Day & hour of sample in col. 1; measured SSC in col. 2
1991 Day & hour of sample in col. 3; measured SSC in col. 4
1990 Day & hour of sample in col. 5; measured SSC in col. 6
placeholder: -999.9
Stream discharge, daily totals (m3)
1992 Day of Year 174 to 220
1991 Day of Year 155 to 192
1990 Day of Year 160 to 208
placeholder: -999999
Suspended sediment load, daily totals (kg)
Daily loads were determined based on measured and interpolated SSC values
(hourly series), and hourly discharge (see other documentation).
1992 Day of Year 174 to 220
1991 Day of Year 155 to 192
1990 Day of Year 160 to 208
